Sperm Donation

Sperm Donation

SEFC has an on-site Sperm Donor Bank and can treat those in need within reasonable timeframes. We recruit donors from the local community and abide by a stringent process of screening, counselling and assessment before accepting donors, ensuring they are fully aware of the role they are playing and the implications of donation.

Who do we treat?

We may recommend sperm donation when the man has no sperm in his semen sample, if he carries certain genetic diseases or if he has stopped producing sperm due to certain cancer treatments. We can also treat single women and women in same-sex relationships subject to initial assessment and counselling.

Sperm Donation

There is a severe nationwide shortage of sperm donors and many clicins have to turn away couples needing donor sperm to achieve a pregnancy.

The SEFC has been able to provide this treatment to date but to avoid any shortage in the future, we are currently seeking fit and healthy men between 18 and 45 to become sperm donors.

All potential sperm donors must undergo careful screening and should idealy be able to commit to weekly appointments for a minimum of 3-6 months.
