Our Fertility Treatments
We offer a comprehensive range of advanced fertility treatments, all of which are performed at our Amberley House clinic to make your treatment as easy and convenient as possible. The following summaries of our treatments are meant as outlines only – please contact us for further details or access further information on our downloads page.
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
If we are unable to establish the cause of your infertility through diagnostic tests, we may use Intrauterine Insemination as the next step. This procedure involves transferring washed semen into the uterus to coincide with ovulation followed by ovulation stimulation and ultrasound scans to monitor the woman’s follicular growth.
In-Vitro Fertilisation (IVF)
IVF treatment is used when a woman’s fallopian tubes are damaged or for unexplained or male causes of infertility. It involves transferring fertilised embryos into the womb followed by injections to stimulate follicular growth and a programme of ultrasound scan monitoring. Eggs are surgically fertilised to produce embryos and following careful observation, embryo transfer is carried out with the aim of achieving pregnancy.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
ICSI involves the injection of a single sperm into a mature egg to achieve fertilisation. Very similar to IVF, the procedure is most commonly used where the man has a low sperm count or when IVF treatment has failed.
Sperm retrieval
Available as a day procedure, this retrieves sperm from men who have had a vasectomy, giving them the chance to have children without surgical reversal procedure. Sperm may also be retrieved from men with no sperm in their semen samples.
Embryo and sperm freezing
We are able to freeze and store excess embryos from IVF treatment, so giving you another chance of pregnancy without the need for a new cycle of IVF. We can also freeze and store sperm from men under the age of 55 to eliminate the need for repeat procedures and to help those considering vasectomy or facing surgery that may affect sperm production. For men with cancer, our oncology freezing service will freeze sperm before radiotherapy or chemotherapy treatment.
Egg donation
For some couples, the only hope of pregnancy is through egg donation, where eggs are sourced from a donor. This may be viable when a woman has experienced early menopause or has a genetic disease or chromosome disorder. We offer altruistic egg donation when available and also donation through our egg-sharing programme. To be eligible for egg-sharing, you must be under 46 and receive counselling to ensure you are aware of the ethical and legal implications of treatment.
Reduced cost IVF treatment
The complexity of fertility treatment makes it expensive. If you are unable to afford treatment, our egg-sharing programme may be the answer. If you are interested in egg-sharing, click here.
Ultrasound monitoring
We offer an ultrasound scanning and reporting service to couples undergoing treatment abroad, where we send vital information about your response to medication during your treatment to your chosen overseas clinic before your procedures are performed.
