Quality & Policies

Our Clinic

SEFC is situated at Amberley House in Tunbridge Wells, a handsome Victorian house imaginatively converted to provide patients with advanced care within calm and welcoming surroundings.

The clinic centres round spacious and comfortable consultation suites and superbly equipped procedure and patient day rooms. We also have our own on-site laboratory, pharmacy and sperm donation bank, ensuring we can provide a comprehensive and self-contained service. Our
facilities offer:

Private day rooms

All our procedures are carried out as day cases and as a patient you will be given your own comfortable private room during your treatment.

Laboratory

Our state-of-the-art laboratory is specially equipped to deliver exceptional levels of scientific management. The laboratory utilises a cutting-edge air purification system to ensure the clean air necessary for the healthy development of embryos. The resulting air quality not only meets, but also exceeds, European Tissue Directives standards for the safe handling of eggs, sperm and embryos, so optimising the chances of success for each and every patient.

Investment in new technologies such as vitrification (a method of freezing sperm and embryos) has enabled the laboratory to improve success rates year on year.

Our regulator, the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) have recently directed licensed Clinics to ensure that their Andrology services are formally accredited.  In response to this initiative, we are working towards Clinical Pathology Accredition (CPA)

Pharmacy

Most patients will require a range of medication to support their treatment.  our doctors and nurses will ensure your prescription is signed and submitted to our pharmacy supplier, Healthcare at Home.  You will be contacted directly by them to establish where and when you wish to received your medication to coordinate with the start of your treatment.  Should you need additional drugs during your cycle, these may continue to be dispensed by Healthcare at Home, or (rarely) be provided for you at the Clinic.

Should you decide to purchase your medication through any other Pharmacy, you should be aware that the Clinic will administer a fee for private prescriptions and clinical waste disposal etc.

We are unable to prescribe medication which is not utilised by our own Clinicians and there may be occasions when enquiries made by overseas clinics cannot be accommodated.

We cannot offer refunds for returned and/or unused prescriptions.

Sperm Donor Bank

SEFC has its own, dedicated Sperm Donor Bank. We recruit donors from the local community and abide by a stringent process of screening, counselling and assessment before accepting donors.

Occassionally we are also asked to provide a known-donor sperm service which enables couples to benefit from their own choice of donor.
